A 10W solar panel with a built-in charge controller is perfect for most electric fencing systems. It protects your battery from overcharging and works well with X-Stop's BA280 energiser.
The solar panel will still significantly extend the time between battery charges, depending on its power consumption.
The best part is that you can safely incorporate the 10W solar panel into any 12V system without worrying about adding a charge controller. This convenience is not guaranteed with larger solar panels.
The panel comes with a sturdy ground mount for easy installation near your fence or for other outdoor applications like keeping a vehicle battery topped up.
To set up the panel, attach the stand and firmly place the spike into the ground, facing south at a 30º angle to ensure optimal sun exposure.
For maximum efficiency, choose a location near your fence that avoids shade.
